RISEExperiences

Pricing

Two products.
Two different prices.

Xrise can power the bookings on your own website, or bring you customers through our marketplace, or both. Those are different things to sell, so we charge differently for them — and we will tell you which one you actually need.

Pick one, or take both

Most operators start with one. Taking both is common and there is no bundle discount theatre — you are billed for each on its own terms.

We supply software

Booking engine

Quoted per operator

We have not set this price yet. Rather than publish a number we made up, we quote it per operator and say so here.

Xrise runs the booking on your own website — availability, checkout, card payment and the confirmation email. You keep your site, your brand and your customer.

Ways this can be billed

  • Flat recurring fee
  • Flat fee per booking
  • Commission (% of each booking)
  • Recurring fee + reduced per-booking
  • Custom / negotiated
Best fit: You already get direct bookings and your current system is a phone, a spreadsheet, or software you resent paying for.

We supply demand

Directory listing

6% per booking

You keep 94% of every booking we send you.

You appear on xriseexperiences.com, where people search by activity and location. We bring you customers who did not know your name.

Ways this can be billed

  • Commission (% of each booking)
  • Free
  • Per lead
  • Flat recurring fee
  • Custom / negotiated
Best fit: You want more customers and you only want to pay when you get one.

The booking-engine price is not published yet.

We would rather say that than print a figure and change it on you a month later. The product is built — availability, checkout, confirmations and card payment on your own domain — though card payment is not switched on yet, and we will tell you before it is. We are pricing it against what it costs us to run rather than against what we could get away with. Ask for a quote and you will get a real number with a written term attached to it.

Why the two prices are different

Demand earns a commission

When someone finds you on xriseexperiences.com, we created that booking. Taking a share of it is fair, and it only costs you anything when it works.

Software earns a fee

When someone books on your own website, you created that booking. Charging a travel-agency commission on it would be charging you for your own marketing. So the engine is priced as software.

Which is why the rates differ

Any booking engine quoting you the same rate as a marketplace is selling you demand it never supplied. Ask them which one you are paying for.

Directory listing, compared

6% instead of 20–30%

Viator and GetYourGuide publish commissions in the 20–30% range. Our directory commission is 6%, so you keep 94% of every booking we send you. This comparison applies to the directory product and nothing else — an OTA does not sell you booking software, and comparing their commission to a software fee would be a category error in our favour.

We are also much smaller than they are, and a smaller audience is the honest trade for a smaller cut. The calculator below asks you for the volume you think we would send rather than assuming one.

Run your own numbers

Switch between the two products at the top. Put in what you actually charge — this is the whole pitch, there isn't a catch hiding behind it.

What would Xrise be worth to you?

Two different products with two different prices. Pick the one you actually want — or both — and put your own numbers in.

Incremental customers only — not your total business.

Viator / GetYourGuide · 20–30%

$245–$280

$49 more per booking, or about $4,704 a year at 8 a month — measured against the cheaper end of published OTA rates, so the real gap is usually wider.

before card processing

A free listing is the normal starting point: on commission you pay nothing until a booking arrives. Featured placement is an optional add-on — we haven't published a price for it yet, so it is quoted per operator and is not included in the figures above.

Card processing (about 2.9% + 30¢) comes out of the Xrise side on commission deals, not yours. Figures are estimates for discussion, not a quote — final terms go in a written agreement, and whatever that agreement says is what the database charges.

Add-ons and alternatives

Everything here is optional and everything here is negotiable. A deal is a row in our database, not a plan we have to build, so a term that suits one operator costs us nothing to write.

Featured placement

Quoted per operator

Not set yet — quoted, not published.

Top of your category page, a badge on your listing, priority in search. Stacks on top of whichever base deal you are on.

Per-lead

Quoted per operator

Not set yet — quoted, not published.

For trips that are quoted rather than booked online — charters, group events, anything where the price depends on the conversation. You pay for the enquiry, not a commission on a number we never see.

Engine per-booking rate

Quoted per operator

Not set yet — quoted, not published.

An alternative to the flat monthly fee on the booking engine, for operators whose volume is seasonal enough that a fixed fee is the wrong shape.

The things pricing pages usually leave out

Is the price on this page the price I will pay?

The directory commission is: 6% is what the platform charges, read from the same setting the payment code reads, so this page cannot drift from your invoice. Anything shown as "quoted per operator" genuinely has no published price yet — and whatever we agree with you is stored against your account and is what prices your bookings, not the headline here.

Can I negotiate?

Yes, and some operators have. Terms are data on our side, so a bespoke rate is a conversation and a written agreement rather than an engineering project. If you bring volume or you are the only operator in a category we need, say so.

What happens to a booking if my rate changes later?

Nothing. Each booking stores what was actually taken from it and which agreement priced it, and an old agreement is closed rather than edited. A trip you sold in March is still priced by March's deal for as long as the record exists.

If I take the booking engine, do I have to be in the directory?

No. They are separate products and either works alone. Some operators want the software and no marketplace presence at all — that is a normal choice and it does not cost more.

Who pays the card fees?

On directory commission deals, card processing comes out of the Xrise side. On the booking engine the money is yours and processing is a cost of taking cards, the same as it is now — we will show you the exact split before you sign anything.

Is there a recurring bill I should expect?

Only if your agreement has one, and only once we can actually invoice it — we do not currently charge recurring fees automatically, so anything monthly is arranged with you directly rather than silently charged.

Which one do you need?

Tell us how you take bookings today and we will tell you — including when the answer is “neither, yet”.
